Atlantic City Killing

Cris has reminded me just about everyday that I need to post the latest scores...when you see the scores you'll see why I wasn't too motivated to post them this week. Dinner, first of all. The boys cooked and we had Fajitas which were delicious. Let me see if I have some pictures of them. They were served with guac, various hot sauces, and cheese. No salad this time. When Cris and I cook there seems to seldom be salad.

Onto the bridge. AC delivered a beat down to HD. We played 4 rubbers. A couple of them went so fast that we decided to play one more. (and HD hadn't gotten a W yet, so we tried once more.)

Grill Veggies

I finally posted the pictures. Dinner tonight was Grilled Vegetables, with chicken, and corn. It felt like summer.

In a grill pan, grill squash, zucchini, mushrooms, red peppers, and onions in a tiny bit of oil and a little Herbs de Provance. I don't like to add salt, because I feel it takes the water out of the veggies and then they steam rather than grill. Anyway, we did the chicken with a little Cajun seasoning, in the Wok. Everything kept in the oven until ready to serve. We served it with salad, bread, and steamed corn on the cob.

Bridge. We only played one rubber tonight, because we got a late start, and we had actually played yesterday when we were all together for some German Cooking.
HighDef won the unenthusiastic rubber.

Drunken Noodles

Another day of bridge. First the dinner then the Bridge.
Drunken Noodles:
Cut and stir fry vegetables: Snow Peas, carrots, broccoli, onions , garlic, Serrano pepper (DON'T OVERCOOK THE VEGETABLES)
Add cooked wide rice noodles
Add a mixture of fish sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, Siarcha (Crazy Chicken), lime juice
Heat through.

Was good, but tasted a little too fishy for me. Maybe less fish/oyster sauce next time, substituted by perhaps more Soy Sauce.

The bridge:
Another killing given by High Def. Alternate Current had no chance tonight.

Monday Night Bridge

Haven't posted in a while. Last week we did play, but the computer died so I couldn't post the results . I believe last week, Heike and I did win though (Cris , correct me if I'm mistaken). This week was more of the same. First, though, dinner... Tacos.
Recipe:
Chicken Breast
1 Poblano Pepper
Tomato Sauce
Cumin
Corn
Garlic
Onion
Flour Tortillas

Served with more corn, and some Pico de gallo, and Tofutti (tofu sour cream)

Bridge. Great quote from the night. Cris had mistaken the Ace of Spades for the Ace of clubs, which turned his oh so great hand into, not so great (actually really bad). Which led to Annette making a sign, and hold it in front of Cris while he played.
Don't forget the ASS of Spades

Oh, the subtle differences between English and German.

Onto the scores. Another beating was delivered to AC from HD. Go HighDef.

Monday Night Bridge : Split Rubbers

Tonight was another bridge night. First a vegetarian dinner. Cris doesn't eat much meat, and eating veggie is supposedly healthy so we always try to find something creative and vegetarian for Monday nights. This Monday was one of our favorites. Pasta a la Pomodoro

It's not pasta with tomatoes, but rather a pasta dish we had at Pomodoro restaurant in Boston, and have since copied.

Recipe:
1 can white kindney beans (drained)
1 box pasta (we like farfalle), cooked
8 cloves garlic, sliced
1 bunch old spicy arugula (not baby arugula)
a couple of cherry tomatoes

In a big pot, or wok, add olive oil, heat, add garlic, sautee until about brown.
Add beans, heat
Add cooked pasta
Add Aaugula, cook until arugula has shrunk
Add tomatoes for color, heat for 1 minute
Add more olive oil, serve immediately with salad

Onto the Bridge. We played two rubbers, and a one game tiebreaker.

By next week, I'll try to figure out how to post the scores correctly :)
